3rd District Supervisor Report
September 2021 Update

While smoke covers the skies and fires are constant threats, there are some bright spots to create healthier forests in our area.
The Mendocino County Resource Conservation District was recently notified by CAL FIRE that the CCI Forest Health proposal for the Northern Mendocino County Forest Health Collaborative was approved for about $5 million in funding. This project will provide ecological and economic benefits in the 3rd District.

Another proposal submitted to the State Water Board for the Eel River Road Sediment Treatment Project – Phase 2 was approved for funding. This project will storm-proof two unpaved road networks west of Brooktrails/Willits, and construction will begin in 2022. I am hopeful that these projects will create safer, healthier forests and communities.
